Shayne & Mel | Pavilion at Sunken Meadow
As florists, there’s nothing more fulfilling than seeing a couple’s vision come to life on their special day. When we first met Shayne and Mel, their excitement was contagious. Above all else, they wanted the vibe of their wedding day to feel joyous, celebratory, and FUN. We were thrilled to be part of creating that atmosphere, knowing that the florals would play a key role in setting the tone for their day.
One of the most exciting challenges was working with their request for a more muted spring color palette, even though it was fall. The couple’s reasoning was simple and beautiful: colorful is fun! We couldn’t agree more. The bright hues brought an unexpected vibrancy to the season, perfectly mirroring the happiness they felt. We focused on creating arrangements that captured that playful, joyful spirit, and the result was nothing short of magical.
The floral designs featured organic, whimsical shapes that seemed to burst with life, as if the flowers were joyously exploding from their bases. The centerpieces, in particular, were a standout. With their dynamic, multi-dimensional design, they brought so much energy to the room—exactly the kind of atmosphere the couple wanted for their guests.
When asked which floral arrangement was their favorite, they told us it was impossible to choose. And honestly, that’s one of the best compliments we could receive. They loved all their florals equally, each one holding its own special place in their hearts. The ceremony arrangements, flanking them as they exchanged vows, added an extra layer of beauty to an already stunning waterfront view. Mel’s boutonnière, a delightful combination of pink ranunclus and craspedia, was a small yet striking statement piece. And Shayne’s bouquet was such a hit that she didn’t want to put it down all day. Hearing that they and their guests were so captivated by the centerpieces that they wished they could last forever brought us so much joy.
One of the moments we’ll never forget was when the couple shared their favorite part of the day: walking down the aisle together. Their decision to walk down together instead of separately was a beautiful reflection of their unity and love. They described feeling an overwhelming wave of love and happiness from their guests, and we’re honored to have played a part in creating that magical moment.
